The course will focus on the recent developments in relation to the Solvency II Directive, in particular the recent guidelines and interim measures issued by EIOPA to all member states. The course will focus on the implementation date of the Solvency II Directive, the implications of the interim measures in relation to Pillars II and III.
Who should attend?
The course will be of particular interest to all insurance and reinsurance undertakings and affiliated (captive) re/insurance undertakings established in Malta which will be subject to the Solvency II Directive once it is implemented and which will be subject to the interim measures and guidelines once these are implemented by the MFSA. This course will also be of particular interest to Maltese licensed insurance managers which are involved in the daily management of Maltese re/insurance undertakings and affiliated re/insurance undertakings which will need to be aware of the proposed changes that will take place once Solvency II and the EIOPA interim measures and guidelines are implemented.

Session 1: Introduction to the EIOPA Solvency II Interim Measures and Pillar II Corporate Governance
This first session will provide a general overview of the interim measures and guidelines issued by EIOPA in March 2013, including the enforceability of these measures and implementation dates and time-lines. This session will also introduce the main measures and guidelines issued by EIOPA in relation to System of Governance in terms of Pillar II.

Session 2: Pillar II Corporate Governance and the ORSA under the EIOPA Guidelines
This second session will provide further insight to the Pillar II System of Governance interim measures and guidelines issued by EIOPA, and will delve into the guidelines/measures applicable to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment of each reinsurance and insurance undertaking.

Session 3: Pillar III Reporting Requirements in terms of the EIOPA Guidelines
The purpose of this third session is to examine and review EIOPA interim measures and guidelines issued in relation to Pillar III and to discuss the implications of the disclosure, reporting and transparency requirements arising under the same Pillar III.
