This lecture focuses on Child Rights within the local, regional and international context. It covers the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and makes reference to a number of regional conventions and guidelines from the Council of Europe, Hague Committee and European Commission, all of which apply to Malta. References to child rights in Malta are scattered in various pieces of legislation and the session will attempt to help participants unravel the system.
